Reverberatory

Reverberatory refers to a type of heating arrangement in which heat from combustion is reflected off a roof or hood onto the material being treated, rather than being delivered primarily by direct contact with flame. In metallurgy and materials processing, a reverberatory furnace uses radiant heat from a heated roof to warm the charge, producing a more uniform heat distribution and reducing direct flame contact with the material.
