Repettos refers to a brand of ballet flats and dancewear founded in 1947 by Rose Repetto in Paris, France. Initially created for ballet dancers, the iconic Repetto ballet flat gained widespread popularity beyond the dance world. The story of Repetto began when Rose Repetto designed ballet shoes for her son, Roland Petit, a famous choreographer. Her innovative "stitch-and-return" method, where the sole is sewn inside out and then turned right side out, was a key development that made the shoes incredibly comfortable and flexible. This technique became the hallmark of the brand.

In the 1950s, Brigitte Bardot famously requested a pair of Repetto flats to wear outside the studio, popularizing them as everyday footwear. This led to the creation of the "Cendrillon" model, which remains one of their most recognizable designs.
