Reikiintymisen

Reikiintymisen is a Finnish term that translates to "reiki attunement" or "reiki initiation" in English. It refers to the process in the practice of Reiki where a Reiki master transmits healing energy and spiritual abilities to a student. This attunement is considered a fundamental part of learning Reiki and is believed to open the student's energy channels, allowing them to channel Reiki for themselves and others.

The attunement ceremony is typically conducted by a qualified Reiki master and involves a series of specific rituals and techniques. These may include hands-on placements on the student's body, the use of sacred symbols, and focused intention. The process is generally seen as a passive experience for the student, who is encouraged to relax and be open to receiving the energy.

There are different levels of Reiki attunement, often corresponding to the progression of learning and practice. These typically include a first degree, which focuses on self-healing and basic hand placements; a second degree, which introduces additional symbols for distance healing and emotional/mental healing; and a master/teacher degree, which qualifies the student to attune others.

Proponents of Reiki believe that attunements are essential for developing a strong connection to Reiki energy and for enabling effective healing practice. Skeptics, however, attribute any perceived benefits to placebo effects or the relaxation induced by the ritualistic setting.
