Regionkoodid, often translated as region codes, are a system used to restrict the geographic area in which certain electronic media, such as DVDs, Blu-rays, and video games, can be played. This restriction is typically implemented by the media manufacturer or distributor and is enforced by the playback device. The world is divided into several regions, each assigned a specific code. For example, Region 1 typically covers North America, while Region 2 includes Europe and Japan.
