Rauduskoivu

Rauduskoivu is the Finnish name for Betula pendula, commonly known as the silver birch. This deciduous tree is widespread across Europe and parts of Asia, and is a prominent species in Finnish forests. It is easily recognizable by its distinctive white bark, which peels in papery strips, and its slender, often drooping branches. The leaves are typically triangular or ovate with toothed margins, turning a vibrant yellow in autumn before falling.

The silver birch is a fast-growing pioneer species, often colonizing open or disturbed ground. It thrives in a variety of soil types but prefers well-drained conditions.
