Puutarhajätteen

Puutarhajäte, or garden waste, refers to organic material generated from gardening and landscaping activities. This commonly includes fallen leaves, grass clippings, pruned branches, weeds, and spent flowers or vegetable plants. The management of puutarhajäte is an important aspect of sustainable waste management, aiming to reduce landfill burden and return nutrients to the soil.

There are several common methods for handling puutarhajäte. Composting is a popular and environmentally friendly approach. By allowing organic matter to decompose under controlled conditions, it transforms into nutrient-rich compost that can be used to fertilize gardens.
