Pudús
Pudús are the world's smallest deer, belonging to the genus Pudu. They are native to the Andes Mountains of South America and are found in the temperate rainforests of Chile and Argentina. There are two species: the southern pudú (Pudu puda) and the northern pudú (Pudu mephistophiles).
Southern pudús are larger, standing about 13 to 17 inches (33 to 44 cm) at the shoulder
These deer are herbivores, feeding on leaves, twigs, fruits, and herbs. They are solitary and primarily crepuscular,
Pudús face threats from habitat loss due to deforestation, fragmentation of their forest homes, and hunting.
