Protestilikeet, a term originating from Finnish, translates directly to "protest parrots." It is not a recognized scientific species or a formal classification of birds. Instead, it is a colloquial and often metaphorical descriptor used to characterize certain types of parrot behavior observed in captivity, particularly in relation to their owners or perceived social environments.

The term is typically applied to parrots that exhibit loud, repetitive vocalizations or displays that seem to mimic or react to the emotional states or actions of their human companions. This can include squawking or screaming in response to arguments, loud noises, or perceived neglect, as well as mimicking phrases or sounds associated with stressful situations. It is important to note that this is an anthropomorphic interpretation of animal behavior.
