Produktionsgen, often shortened from Produktionsgenossenschaft, is a German term referring to a type of cooperative enterprise that focuses on production. These cooperatives were particularly significant in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), commonly known as East Germany. In the GDR, Produktionsgenossenschaften played a crucial role in the planned economy, especially in sectors like agriculture and small-scale manufacturing.
