In manufacturing, common examples include billets, bars, sheets, and castings in metalworking; pre-molded components or modules in electronics; partially baked dough or pre-cooked sauces in food production; and chemical intermediates used to synthesize finished chemicals. Assembly-ready polotovars are components that have passed initial processing and are ready for final assembly, while raw or partially processed polotovars require additional processing before use.

Production, handling, and logistics

Polotovars are produced in processing plants or suppliers’ facilities and transferred to manufacturers for further processing or final assembly. They are typically stored in warehouses with attention to traceability, batch control, and inventory management.
