Polimerképzdésre, often translated as polymer processing or polymer shaping, refers to a range of manufacturing techniques used to form plastic materials into desired shapes. These processes exploit the unique properties of polymers, such as their ability to soften and flow when heated, and solidify upon cooling. The specific method chosen depends on factors like the type of polymer, the complexity of the final product, the desired surface finish, and production volume.

Common polymer processing techniques include injection molding, where molten polymer is injected under high pressure into a mold cavity. Extrusion is another widely used method, involving pushing molten polymer through a die to create continuous profiles like pipes, films, or sheets. Blow molding is employed for hollow objects, such as bottles, by inflating a heated plastic parison within a mold. Thermoforming involves heating a plastic sheet and then shaping it over a mold using vacuum or pressure. Rotational molding is used for large, hollow items by rotating a mold containing polymer powder or liquid around two axes while heating it. Finally, casting involves pouring liquid polymer into a mold and allowing it to cure. Each of these methods plays a crucial role in the production of countless everyday items, from automotive parts and packaging to medical devices and consumer goods.
