Poenostavljanja

Poenostavljanja is a Slovene term meaning “simplifications,” used primarily to describe processes that make language, systems, or concepts easier to understand or use. Derived from the verb poenostaviti, the word is frequently employed in linguistic, educational, and political contexts. In linguistics, poenostavljanja refer to changes that reduce irregularities in grammar or orthography, such as regularizing verb conjugations or spelling rules. The concept gained particular prominence when the Slovenian government introduced a series of linguistic reforms in the late 2000s, often called the poenostavitev reforms, which aimed to standardise spelling, simplify case usage, and make official documents more accessible to the general public.

In political discourse, poenostavljanja can describe efforts to streamline bureaucratic procedures, reduce paperwork, or simplify tax laws. Educational materials often incorporate poenostavljanja to present complex subjects in a more digestible format, utilizing analogies, summaries, or step‑by‑step explanations.
