Pluralsignals

Pluralsignals is a conceptual framework in signal processing for representing and extracting multiple simultaneous signals that occupy a shared channel. It encompasses methods for encoding, transmitting, and separating several signal streams within a single composite signal, while aiming to preserve information integrity and reduce cross-talk.

Core ideas include layered signaling, where each source is assigned a distinct code, frequency band, time slot, or spatial signature; and joint decoding, where statistical or deterministic models separate the composite into constituent signals using prior knowledge or learned priors.

Techniques commonly associated with pluralsignals include multi-layer modulation, sparse coding, and spatial multiplexing, as well as blind source separation and Bayesian inference for signal reconstruction. The approach emphasizes exploiting structure in the signals and the channel, rather than treating interference as noise.
