Ploussard
Ploussard is a red grape variety primarily grown in the Jura region of eastern France. It is one of the traditional grapes allowed in Jura wines, alongside Trousseau, Poulsard, and Savagnin. The grape is thought to be indigenous to the Jura and has a long history in the area. Ploussard is known for producing wines that are typically light-bodied, with bright acidity and delicate red fruit flavors, often described as having notes of cherry, raspberry, and sometimes a hint of floral or earthy character.
The grape is relatively thin-skinned, which contributes to the lighter color and less tannic structure of the
