Pilvevõrgustamist, also known as cloud networking, refers to the practice of creating, managing, and utilizing virtual networks that operate within cloud computing environments. Instead of relying on physical network infrastructure, cloud networking leverages software-defined networking (SDN) and virtualization technologies to abstract and automate network services. This allows for greater flexibility, scalability, and agility in how organizations connect their cloud resources, whether they are in a public, private, or hybrid cloud.

Key components of cloud networking include virtual private clouds (VPCs), which provide isolated and secure network segments within a cloud provider's infrastructure. These VPCs allow users to define their own IP address ranges, subnets, route tables, and network gateways. Load balancing is another critical aspect, distributing incoming network traffic across multiple instances to ensure high availability and performance. Firewalls and security groups are implemented at the virtual level to control network access and protect resources.

Cloud networking enables seamless connectivity between different cloud services, on-premises data centers, and even other cloud providers. It supports various connectivity models, such as VPNs and direct connections, to bridge physical and virtual networks. The management of these virtual networks is typically done through a web-based console or APIs, allowing for programmatic control and automation of network configurations. This shift from hardware-centric to software-defined networking fundamentally changes how network infrastructure is provisioned and managed, offering significant advantages in cost-efficiency and operational speed for modern IT deployments.
