Piirijärjestelyä
Piirijärjestelyä, or districting, refers to the division of a geographic area into smaller districts for administrative or electoral purposes. In electoral contexts piirijärjestelyä determines how voters are grouped into constituencies to elect representatives and, in some systems, how seats are allocated among districts. The aim is typically to enable fair and efficient governance, while reflecting population distribution and regional characteristics.
In Finland the term is closely linked to vaalipiirit, the electoral districts used for parliamentary elections.
