Phraseologien
Phraseologien, also known as phraseology, is a subfield of linguistics that studies multi-word expressions and fixed phrases. These expressions, often called idioms, proverbs, collocations, or phrasal verbs, have meanings that cannot be deduced from the individual words alone. For example, the idiom "kick the bucket" does not literally mean to strike a pail with one's foot but rather to die.
