Phomataceae is a family of fungi within the order Pleosporales. This family primarily contains plant pathogenic fungi that cause a variety of diseases in agricultural and horticultural crops. Members of Phomataceae are characterized by their asexual reproductive structures, known as pycnidia, which are typically dark, flask-shaped, and immersed in host tissue. Within these pycnidia, conidia, the asexual spores, are produced.
