Personhiss

Personhiss is a colloquial term referring to the phenomenon where an individual's voice or speech pattern is perceived as emitting a faint hissing sound, often difficult to discern. This is distinct from typical speech impediments or vocal cord issues that produce more pronounced vocalizations. The sound is generally subtle, and its perception can be subjective, meaning not everyone may notice it or interpret it as a hiss.

The causes of personhiss are not well-defined in medical or linguistic literature. It is not a recognized medical diagnosis. When it is noticed, it is often attributed to a combination of factors related to the mechanics of speech production.
