The word combines performans, the Turkish word for performance, with NDA, non-disclosure agreement. In practice, performansnda refers to a family of practices rather than a single document, intended to balance data usefulness with privacy and competitive concerns in fields where performance data is sensitive.

Scope and structure: It encompasses standardized data schemas, consent management, access control, data minimization, and auditing. While many implementations rely on formal NDA contracts, performansnda emphasizes ongoing governance, versioning, revocation of access, and event logging to support accountability and reproducibility in performance assessment.
