Peegelduslikkust, also known as reflection, is a fundamental concept in physics and optics that describes the change in direction of a wavefront at an interface between two different media, such as air and water, or glass and air. This phenomenon occurs when a wave encounters a boundary and some or all of its energy is redirected back into the medium from which it originated. The law of reflection states that the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection, and both angles are measured with respect to the normal, an imaginary line perpendicular to the surface at the point of incidence.

Reflection can be categorized into two types: specular and diffuse. Specular reflection occurs when the reflecting surface is smooth and regular, such as a mirror.
