Painepesureilla

Painepesureilla is a Finnish term that refers to cleaning or treating surfaces with high-pressure water jets produced by a pressure washer. The word is formed from painepesu (pressure washing) and the instrumental suffix -illa, indicating the method or means. In practice, painepesureilla describes actions carried out with pressure-washing equipment, by professionals or skilled amateurs, on a variety of materials.

A typical setup includes a motorized pump, a high-pressure hose and interchangeable spray nozzles. Nozzles vary by spray angle (for example 0°, 15°, 25°, 40°), which determines cleaning intensity and surface safety. Units may use cold water or hot water, with hot-water systems offering enhanced removal of oils and heavy grime. Detergents or surfactants are often used in combination, but require proper handling and disposal.

Common applications include exterior building cleaning (bricks, siding), pavements, decks, fences, vehicles and machinery, loading docks and other industrial settings. The method is valued for speed and versatility, but improper use can damage delicate surfaces, strip coatings, or cause splash and water infiltration.
