PMI-ACP stands for PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, a credential awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to validate knowledge of agile project management across frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and extreme programming. The certification emphasizes applying agile principles, tailoring practices to organizational context, and leading agile teams in product and project delivery.

Eligibility for the PMI-ACP requires meeting prerequisites that typically include 2,000 hours of general project experience within the last five years and 21 contact hours of training in agile practices. Candidates must also pass the PMI-ACP examination.

The examination consists of 120 multiple-choice questions to be completed in three hours. The content covers domains including Agile Principles and Mindset, Value-Driven Delivery, Stakeholder Engagement, Team Performance, Adaptive Planning, Problem Detection and Resolution, and Continuous Improvement.

Certification process and renewal: After passing the exam, individuals earn the PMI-ACP credential. The certification is valid for three years and requires renewal through continuing education credits, usually in agile topics, completed within the renewal cycle.
