PLURPeace

PLURPeace is a non-profit initiative that promotes the PLUR ethos—peace, love, unity, and respect—within music and youth communities, with a focus on electronic dance music events. The organization provides resources, training, and policies designed to foster safe and inclusive environments.

Originating in the early 2010s from volunteer organizers and participants in festival culture, PLURPeace sought to translate PLUR into practical norms and formal guidance. It developed collaborations with event organizers, venues, harm-reduction groups, and online communities to broaden its reach.

Core activities include publishing a festival code of conduct, offering consent education, and providing bystander intervention training. The organization also maintains online resources on harassment reporting, accessibility, and harm-reduction practices, and supports regional chapters through workshops and coordination.

PLURPeace operates as a registered non-profit with a network of regional chapters and a central steering committee. Its funding comes from member donations, grants, partnerships with events, and revenue from merchandise and fundraising campaigns.

Reception to PLURPeace has been mixed. Some events and communities have adopted its guidelines and training programs, citing improvements in safety and culture. Critics have questioned the effectiveness of activist branding and called for ongoing evaluation of outcomes.
