PLECS
PLECS, which stands for Piecewise Linear Electrical Circuit Simulation, is a specialized software tool for simulating electrical power electronic systems. It is designed for the efficient and accurate modeling of circuits that involve switching elements like transistors and diodes, which are fundamental to power electronics. Unlike general-purpose circuit simulators that can struggle with the computationally intensive nature of these systems, PLECS utilizes a matrix pencil method to solve the differential equations describing the circuit. This approach allows for very fast simulation speeds, even for complex circuits with high switching frequencies.
The software allows users to define circuit topologies using a graphical user interface or by importing netlists.
