Opels, commonly referred to as Opel, is a German automobile manufacturer and brand based in Rüsselsheim, Hesse. The company traces its origins to 1862, when Adam Opel founded a sewing-machine business that later diversified into bicycles and automobiles. Opel produced its first car in 1899 and grew into one of Europe’s largest carmakers, known for practical family cars and commercial vehicles.
