Opel
Opel is a German automobile manufacturer and a subsidiary of Stellantis. The company was founded in 1862 by Adam Opel as a sewing machine maker in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and began producing bicycles in the 1880s. It entered automobile production in 1899, establishing Opel as one of the oldest car makers in the world and laying the groundwork for a large European car business. After expanding during the 20th century, Opel became part of General Motors in 1929 and developed a broad range of passenger cars and commercial vehicles under GM ownership.
