Oost-Europese is a Dutch term used to refer to people from Eastern Europe and to describe things associated with that region. The label is broad and imprecise, encompassing citizens of countries in Central and Southeastern Europe, such as Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and others, as well as people with origins in those countries who live in the Netherlands. In practice it is a sociocultural and demographic descriptor rather than a precise ethnic or legal category.
