ORingen

ORingen, commonly written O-Ringen, is the world's largest annual multi-day orienteering festival. Held mainly in Sweden, the event combines competitive races with a festival atmosphere and attracts participants from Sweden and from other countries.

It is organized by the O-Ringen Association together with local clubs and the host municipalities. The event center serves as the hub for registration, training maps, and services, while a large volunteer network coordinates course setting, safety, and logistics.

Across several days the program includes multiple formats, including long distance, middle distance, sprint (urban or forest), and relay races. The event also offers training opportunities, social activities, and a market area with sponsors and map vendors. Courses are designed for a wide range of ages and abilities.

Venues vary and are located in forest and park areas in southern Sweden. Each year the organizers select different terrains to present varied navigation challenges while using standardized event maps and control systems.

Since its inception in the mid-20th century, O-Ringen has developed into a major platform for international orienteering, supporting youth development, map production, and the sport's global visibility. It remains a key event in the sport's calendar and a focal point for the community.
