The basic structure of an OLED consists of several layers, including an anode, a cathode, and an organic layer that emits light. When a voltage is applied, electrons from the cathode and holes from the anode combine in the organic layer, releasing energy in the form of photons, which we perceive as light. This process allows for the creation of full-color displays with deep blacks and vibrant colors.

However, OLED technology also has some drawbacks. The organic materials used in OLEDs are sensitive to oxygen and moisture, which can degrade the display over time. This requires OLED displays to be encapsulated, adding to the manufacturing cost. Furthermore, the high production costs and limited scalability of OLED manufacturing have been barriers to widespread adoption.

Despite these challenges, OLED technology continues to evolve, with ongoing research focused on improving the stability and scalability of OLED displays.
