Nonretouched
Nonretouched is a term used in photography and media to indicate that an image has not been digitally altered after capture to modify the subject’s appearance. It implies that the original capture, including lighting, makeup, and pose, is presented without post-production edits that remove blemishes, reshape features, smooth skin, or otherwise change how a person or scene looks. Small adjustments in-camera, such as exposure or white balance, are not considered retouching in this context; but the label generally refers to after-shot modifications rather than initial shooting choices.
The term is commonly used in fashion, beauty advertising, journalism, and social media to signal authenticity
Usage and perception of nonretouched images have implications for discussions about body image, ethics, and transparency
