Nonreservable

Nonreservable is an adjective used to describe goods or services that cannot be reserved or booked in advance through standard channels. The term is used across hospitality, event management, and software systems to distinguish items that cannot be secured ahead of time from those that can.

In hospitality and travel, a room, rate, or inventory item labeled nonreservable cannot be booked via the usual online reservation process. It may reflect inventory reserved for on-site use, walk-in guests, or cases where a property manages reservations directly rather than through an external platform. Conditions may allow later reservation under specific circumstances, but the item is not available for standard advance booking.

In events and venues, nonreservable seats or sections are not open to advance reservations. They may be allocated on arrival, held for organizers, or released only under certain conditions. In software, a nonreservable flag prevents bookings for a resource to avoid overbooking and to enforce policy-driven constraints.

Nonreservable contrasts with reservable, refundable, and nonrefundable statuses. It often signals a channel, policy, or operational constraint rather than absolute unavailability. Clear labeling helps users understand when and how an item might be reserved, if ever, and reduces misinterpretation.
