Nondimensionalisere is the process of removing physical dimensions from an equation or a physical system. This is achieved by combining variables in such a way that the resulting dimensionless quantities, often called dimensionless numbers or parameters, are independent of the specific units used. This simplification is crucial in many scientific and engineering disciplines for several reasons.

The primary benefit of nondimensionalization is that it reduces the number of independent variables that need to be considered. By grouping physical quantities into dimensionless parameters, a complex problem with many variables can be represented by a simpler problem with fewer parameters. This makes it easier to analyze, understand, and solve the underlying physics. Furthermore, nondimensionalization allows for the generalization of results.
