NiñoEreignisse
NiñoEreignisse, commonly known as El Niño events, are significant climate patterns that occur irregularly in the equatorial Pacific Ocean. These events are characterized by a warming of the sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern tropical Pacific, which deviates from the usual cooler conditions. The term "El Niño" is Spanish for "the boy" or "Christ child," and was originally coined by fishermen off the coast of Peru who noticed the warming waters around Christmas time.
El Niño events are part of a larger climate cycle known as the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO).
The impacts of El Niño are far-reaching, extending beyond the Pacific region and influencing weather patterns
