Nedvességszórás

Nedvességszórás, often translated as dampness dispersal, is a concept within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It refers to an imbalance characterized by the presence of excess pathological dampness in the body, which can obstruct the normal functioning of organs and energy pathways. This dampness is considered a 'pathogen' that can arise from various internal and external factors.

Internally, a weakened spleen function is commonly associated with nedvességszórás. The spleen in TCM is responsible for transforming and transporting fluids; if it is weak, it cannot effectively manage moisture, leading to its accumulation. External factors contributing to dampness include living in damp environments, exposure to rain or humidity, or prolonged exposure to cold, damp weather.

The symptoms of nedvességszórás can be varied and depend on the location and severity of the dampness. Commonly observed signs include a heavy sensation in the body and head, fatigue, a feeling of fullness, poor appetite, loose stools, and a swollen tongue with teeth marks. The pulse may feel slippery or heavy.

Treatment in TCM for nedvességszórás focuses on drying dampness, strengthening the spleen, and promoting urination to expel the excess fluid. Herbal formulas, acupuncture, and dietary recommendations are the primary modalities used to address this pattern. Lifestyle adjustments to avoid damp environments are also considered important.
