Nebulizace

Nebulizace is a medical treatment method used to administer medication directly into the respiratory system. It involves converting a liquid medication into a fine mist or aerosol, which is then inhaled by the patient through a mask or mouthpiece. This allows the medication to reach the lungs and airways efficiently, providing a targeted and rapid therapeutic effect.

The process of nebulization typically uses a nebulizer device. There are several types of nebulizers, including jet nebulizers, ultrasonic nebulizers, and mesh nebulizers, each utilizing different mechanisms to create the aerosol. Jet nebulizers use compressed air, ultrasonic nebulizers use high-frequency vibrations, and mesh nebulizers employ a vibrating mesh to produce the mist. The choice of nebulizer often depends on the type of medication, the patient's age, and the desired particle size of the aerosol.

Nebulization is commonly prescribed for respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, and bronchiolitis. The medications administered can include bronchodilators to open airways, corticosteroids to reduce inflammation, and antibiotics to treat infections.
