Using a nebulizer typically involves placing the medication into a small cup, attaching a mouthpiece or mask, and connecting the device to a power source. The patient then breathes normally through the mouthpiece or mask until all the medication is delivered, which usually takes between 5 to 20 minutes. Nebulizers are generally considered safe and effective when used as prescribed. Proper cleaning and maintenance of the device are essential to prevent infection and ensure optimal performance.
