Mutsuhito
Mutsuhito, commonly known posthumously as Emperor Meiji, was the 122nd emperor of Japan, ruling from 1867 to 1912. Born November 3, 1852, in Kyoto, he ascended the throne after the death of his father, Emperor Kōmei, at a young age.
His reign began during the Meiji period, a time of sweeping modernization and centralization of political power.
