Munasõlmevähkuse

Munasõlmevähkuse, also known as cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung, is a congenital lung abnormality characterized by abnormal development of lung tissue. It is a benign tumor that typically presents in infancy and early childhood. The condition arises from an overgrowth of bronchioles, which leads to the formation of cysts of varying sizes within the lung. These cysts can be filled with fluid or air.

The exact cause of munasõlmevähkuse is not fully understood, but it is believed to result from a genetic mutation or environmental factors during fetal development. It can occur in isolation or be associated with other congenital anomalies.

Symptoms can vary depending on the size and location of the malformation. Some infants may be asymptomatic, while others may experience respiratory distress, recurrent pneumonia, coughing, or wheezing. In severe cases, large malformations can lead to heart failure.

Diagnosis is typically made through prenatal ultrasound or after birth using chest X-rays or CT scans. Histologically, munasõlmevähkuse is classified into different types based on the size and arrangement of the cysts.

Treatment for munasõlmevähkuse usually involves surgical removal of the affected portion of the lung, a procedure known as a lobectomy or segmentectomy. Early diagnosis and intervention are important to prevent complications. In most cases, the prognosis is excellent following surgical resection, with most individuals experiencing a full recovery.
