Modtagerfelt

Modtagerfelt is the input area in a digital messaging or email interface where the recipient addresses are entered. The term is Danish and translates to the recipient field, commonly labeled Til or Modtager in Danish software interfaces.

Typically, a modtagerfelt allows entering one or more addresses, separated by commas or semicolons depending on the platform. It accepts individual users, distribution lists, or alias addresses and is often linked to an address book that provides auto-complete suggestions. Many clients perform basic validation of address formats to reduce errors.

In multi-recipient messages, the modtagerfelt is distinct from other recipient-related fields such as CC (kopi) and BCC (blind kopi). Some interfaces keep these fields separate, while others consolidate recipients into a single field with tagging. Accessibility and user experience vary by application and localization.

The modtagerfelt appears across email clients, internal messaging systems, and web forms. Understanding its behavior helps with privacy considerations, since addresses entered in this field may be visible to all recipients; in cases where privacy is needed, Bcc or restricted distribution should be used.
