Modernistlikud
Modernistlikud is an Estonian term used to refer to practitioners and works associated with modernism in Estonia and the Baltic region in the early 20th century. The label covers artists, writers, architects, and designers who pursued international modernist ideas—experimentation with form, materials, and new ways of representing modern urban life—while engaging with local cultural and national contexts. The movement took shape in a period of rapid social change, especially after Estonia gained independence in 1918, and drew on European currents such as constructivism, expressionism, and vanguard graphic design.
