Mielentiede

Mielentiede, literally the science of the mind, is a multidisciplinary field focused on understanding mental processes, states, and phenomena such as perception, cognition, emotion, memory, and experience. It draws on psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, philosophy of mind, linguistics, and, in some contexts, artificial intelligence and computer science. The term is used in Finnish to describe the broad study of minds rather than a single, tightly defined discipline, and it can appear as an umbrella concept in academic and popular writing.

The scope of mielentiede includes how mental states arise, how they are represented and transformed in the brain, and how they relate to behavior.
