Microcaecilia
Microcaecilia is a genus of amphibians in the family Caeciliidae. These are limbless, serpentine amphibians, commonly known as caecilians, that are native to South America. The genus was first described in 1968 by Edward H. Taylor. The name Microcaecilia comes from the Greek words "mikros" meaning small and "kailia" meaning belly, referring to their slender bodies.
Species within the Microcaecilia genus are generally small, often measuring less than 15 centimeters in length.
Microcaecilia species are fossorial, meaning they live underground, inhabiting moist soil, leaf litter, and decaying wood
