Matisyahu

Matisyahu, born Matthew Paul Miller on June 30, 1979, is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He is known for blending reggae, hip hop, and beatboxing with a lyrical focus that often draws from his Hasidic Jewish faith. Miller was raised in a secular Jewish family and discovered reggae music at a young age. He later embraced Orthodox Judaism and began performing as Matisyahu in the early 2000s.

His breakout album, "Shake off the Dust, Rise Up," was released in 2004, gaining significant attention for its unique sound and spiritual themes. His music often explores concepts of faith, identity, and redemption. Matisyahu's live performances are characterized by their energetic improvisations and his distinctive vocal style. He has released several studio albums, including "Youth" (2006), "Shteya" (2014), and "Akeda" (2014).
