Evaluation often uses metrics from materials science and sustainability assessments, including tensile strength, Young's modulus, fatigue life, density, price per kilogram, embodied energy, and end-of-life recyclability. Data sources include published material properties databases, supplier data, and experimental testing; methods include MCDA, weighted sum models, or more advanced approaches like machine learning-based ranking or Pareto optimization.
