Marichyasana
Marichyasana is a seated forward bend yoga pose with variations named after the sage Marichi. It is commonly practiced in Hatha yoga and Ashtanga yoga. The pose involves sitting with one leg extended and the other leg bent, with the sole of the bent foot placed on the inner thigh of the extended leg. The torso then twists towards the bent leg, and the arms are typically interlaced behind the back, sometimes with the hands clasped. The name Marichyasana comes from the Sanskrit words "Marichi" meaning "ray of light" or referring to the sage, and "asana" meaning "pose" or "seat."
There are several variations of Marichyasana, often denoted by Roman numerals I through IV. Marichyasana I
