Malcapuya

Malcapuya Island is a tropical island in northern Palawan, Philippines. It is part of the Calamian Islands and lies near Banana Island and Bulog Island, forming a common stop on day trips from Coron town.

The island is known for a long, powdery white-sand beach backed by palm trees and clear, turquoise water. The surrounding shallows host coral and a variety of reef fish, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and swimming. The scenery is typically described as pristine and tranquil compared with more developed beach destinations.

Most visitors reach Malcapuya by banca from Coron Town, often as part of a guided tour that also includes Banana Island and Bulog Island. Travel times are short to moderate depending on sea conditions, and visits are usually completed in a single day.

There are limited facilities on the island; accommodations are minimal and visitors should bring water, snacks, sun protection, and waste disposal considerations. Conservation and access management are relatively basic, with emphasis on preserving the natural environment. As with other popular Palawan destinations, visitors are encouraged to practice responsible tourism, avoid littering, and respect marine life.
