Maelzels
Maelzels refer to mechanical devices associated with Johann Nepomuk Maelzel (c. 1775–1838), a German inventor and showman who operated in Paris and other European cities in the early 19th century. The term appears in historical discussions as a collective label for Maelzel's line of automatons, metronomes, and other mechanical instruments that he promoted through demonstrations and exhibitions.
