Maedhallisiaceae
Maedhallisiaceae is a small family of fungi within the Ascomycota division, class Dothideomycetes. The family was first described in the early 2000s based on molecular phylogenetic analyses of the LSU rDNA and ITS regions, which revealed a distinct clade separate from other families in the order Capnodiales. The family name derives from the type genus Maedhallisia, named in honor of the mycologist L. Maedhall.
