MIPScompatible
MIPS-compatible refers to hardware or software that adheres to the MIPS architecture family. In hardware, a MIPS-compatible processor implements the MIPS instruction set and the architectural behavior defined for its revision, including 32-bit variants (such as MIPS32) and 64-bit variants (such as MIPS64). In software, it denotes programs compiled for a MIPS target that can run on any conforming MIPS processor, assuming a compatible application binary interface (ABI) is present. Some implementations also support optional extensions, such as microMIPS, which offers higher code density while maintaining ISA compatibility.
The scope of MIPS compatibility covers several ISA generations and configurations. The core sets include MIPS
